Psycho Analysis.

We all wonder it, what is WITH our favorite characters? Sometimes they do things totally expected and then next moment… BLAM they do something completely out of the ordinary. Why is that? Is it just some convenient device for the creators? Or is it… actually a deep and unexplained psychological disorder? Well I’m here to analyze your favorite Naruto characters, just for kicks. I have no psychology degree, but I’m SURE you’ll find these both informative… and amusing.

Also, each analysis will only be approximately a page and a half long. So I’ll try and cram 3 characters per chapter, give or take considering the character.

First off… Rock Lee. We all know him, Konoha’s Proud Blue Beast. Bowl haircut and often called “Fuzzy Eyebrows.”

Rock Lee is obviously hard working, he trains for the majority of the day and even as a child, he does about a thousand push-ups, sit-ups, squats and god knows what other activities. Training is not his passion, to become a great ninja is (Duh). However what pushes him to such great extents? And why does he do what he does? I’m sure it’d be MUCH easier to be a farmer or a storeowner but Lee refuses to even think of such things.

Lee is stubborn; he’s as stubborn as an ass. He refuses to believe anything other than his own beliefs and when he began to doubt himself he also began to lose hope. This is where Gai steps in; Gai pushed Lee’s confidence and continued to make him strive for what he wants to be. Lee is in many ways like Naruto, he didn’t have anyone to be with, he had no friends and he only found solace in his training and goal to become a great ninja. To prove that even without Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, he can be a powerful shinobi.

When Gai spoke with Lee, the young boy modeled his life after him. Like Gaara had said, “Even if you know that person is evil… it doesn’t matter.” Gai was one of the first people to acknowledge Lee and Lee soon starts to act more and more like Gai. (The hair and outfit for starters) despite how ridiculous he looks. Now it’s debatable that Lee KNEW that Gai looked like a complete moron with his green jump suit and he is now in denial but it is still an evident fact that Lee still dressed up as him.

Also, Lee is OBVIOUSLY modeled after the infamous martial artist Bruce Lee (even though their styles of fighting are much different, Lee using Iron Fist while Bruce Lee uses Jeet Kune Do). If the name doesn’t sway you then look at his hair, it’s an almost identical. Of course personalities are much different, but I’m sure you guys get the point.

Now for Lee’s ‘personal’ life; besides acting like a moron… what is wrong with Lee’s life? Well first off he calls every guy using the suffix “Kun” which is usually reserved for girls affectionately calling a boy or a parent calling their child. He is also quite attracted to Sakura (before her haircut, and in my opinion before her haircut by a kunai; she looked ugly). Of course the pink-haired ninja has her strong points… but the reason I think she likes Lee is because she wasn’t like Ino, she wasn’t like Tenten. She was concentrated on being strong but she was also a bit… attendant to her hair and clothing. Tenten on the other hand, was not.

Now for pairings, Lee and Tenten are not a bad couple. In fact, there are many facts that back this one up but I just don’t really see enough info or facts to back it up. Lee and Sakura however do have many facts and I support it more because of the growing relationship they have together. Though I support Sasuke and Sakura much better it is still more plausible than Lee and Tenten.

Lee and Sakura, highly plausible and with the many hints dropped down I don’t see this as something only “Optimists” can see. Lee has a crush on Sakura and Sakura… well she’s deeply in love with Sasuke. However that point, Sakura does care for Lee like a good friend. She brought him flowers and cared for him when he was injured. She would, without a doubt, do that for Naruto, Kiba or any other person she knows as a comrade. There is no real evidence that disproves this, maybe Sakura’s possible shallowness (but that’s reserved for later chapters) but either way, Lee and Sakura fics are fine and highly plausible.

Now I’m surprised no one (or at least not many) have done any Lee and Neji fics. Of course I’m not supporting it but I’m just surprised, you see so many Naruto and Sasuke ones you’d ASSUME that there’d be plenty of Lee and Neji fics. But I digress; Lee and Neji are like Sasuke and Naruto, brothers and rivals. Lee sees Neji as someone he can better (and because of a slight inferiority complex, he will also feel like a god afterwards) and a challenge, something Lee loves.
Lee is by far one of my favorite characters in the anime and not just because he is the sole reason there are awesome martial arts scenes (not fight scenes, they’re different and I will elaborate later) but his character embodies effort and strength. Though a complete and utter moron (though every anime needs one) he is still one of the best characters.

Second off, Naruto’s Analysis, we will know explore the blonde haired, Kyuubi holding vessel of Konoha.

Naruto’s psychology is basically that of a standard child with a small twist. First off, everyone because of the demon hates him in his stomach but for all he knows, they hate him just because. This caused him to grow up full of hatred but at the same time wanted attention. In this way he played pranks, he did whatever he could to gain attention much like Iruka when he was young. Also as a child, Naruto saw Sasuke like him after the massacre. Sasuke had no family, he had lost everything and that fateful day by the docks, they acknowledged each other.

Despite seeing that they are similar, Naruto decided that Sasuke was his rival and destined opponent. Sasuke was better than Naruto, he was faster, stronger and smarter but Naruto also had a superiority complex. Despite the knowledge of knowing he is not as fast, strong and smart he worked to do better in however crappy attempts he tried.
For those of you who are “Sasuke X Naruto” Shounen-Ai fans, I can disapprove any of you because those two don’t love each other because of “Eros” which is a love of body and romance. But their love is “Philo” which is the familial love. They are like brothers, both alone and both wanting to prove to each other something. If you do not have a brother, you will not understand. Having a sister is different, I know cause I have a sister and a brother.

Naruto, growing up playing pranks is a natural jester. Even though he has many people who acknowledge him (The entire Genin teams and their teachers for one, Tsunade and Jiraiya as well) he still plays pranks because it is just so like him.

His stubbornness, as the anime as stated comes from his father. “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” and from what the anime and manga shows, Naruto is in many ways just like his father.

Now for his ‘personal’ life, as I’ve stated; I dislike Naruto X Sasuke pairings. Not because I’m a homophobic as many of you will point at me immediately but because it just doesn’t work. Can you imagine you dating your twin sisters or twin brother? I can’t, that’s horrifically wrong and that’s what Naruto and Sasuke are… brothers. Of blood they may not be but they are brothers in heart.

Naruto also seems to have a deep ‘crush’ on Sakura. I say, “Crush” because his feelings for her seem… shallow. He sees Sakura as someone that is humble, nice and great to be around not to mention she’s ‘cute’. However I will cover this more in the “Pairings” part of this analysis.

Naruto also has a deep understanding with Iruka and not because of their similarities as children. Iruka also was orphaned but unlike Naruto, he actually lost them during his childhood and was also not neglected by the village. Iruka is also the only one that ever acknowledged Naruto and the young boy craves attention. In many ways Iruka is Naruto’s godfather.

Now for the PAIRINGS of Naruto, now he has many but I’m only going to elaborate on the two plausible ones. I have already given my opinion on any Naruto X Sasuke pairings and frankly, if I type anymore it’ll just become a rant and not an argument.

Naruto and Hinata, this is my favorite couple. Why? Cause it works. They balance each other out perfectly, Hinata with her timid personality and Naruto’s… loudness mix quite well in my opinion. Also Naruto’s affections for Sakura is what I would shallow cause it’s mostly on the exterior and they don’t really seem to work (Sakura’s true self, her Inner Sakura is too much like Naruto and doesn’t balance well. Opposites attract right?)

Also, Hinata admires Naruto and her heart practically sang when the young boy finally acknowledged her. Naruto however is dense, damn dense. He is so stupid I think rocks notice things before him… But once I again I digress, Naruto merely needs to say that no one appreciates him more than Hinata and that’s when he will truly know love.

Naruto and Sakura is how I stated before. A passing moment and in my eyes Team 7 are much like a family. The three Genin are the children and Kakashi is there teacher or an annoying/perverted (in this case, both) uncle. Naruto has a crush on Sakura and it’s shown by his rather ‘shallow’ vocabulary of her.
Naruto and Ino, this is absolutely hilarious. I can see this couple working if Naruto suddenly had an aneurysm and Ino also went through a failure of brain surgery. I don’t see these two working AT ALL. They don’t like each other at all, they barely LOOK at each other, hell I’m sure Ino only knows Naruto as “That dead last idiot boy that insults my PRECIOUS Sasuke-Kun”.

Naruto and Kiba, wow I saw this one coming. Naruto and Kiba are quite similar in fact (which I will elaborate more when I talk about Kiba in later chapters) but they don’t work. Like I said with Sakura and Naruto, they are BOTH way too loud. They are both also striving for different goals. Naruto wants to be Hokage and Kiba just wants to be boss.

Naruto and Gaara; all right I can see how some people get this. I mean it’s not that far fetched. Naruto and Gaara were raised with similar attitudes. Both were left alone because of how their village feared and hated them and both were left with that undying pain called “Loneliness” However, Gaara looks up to Naruto and Naruto sees Gaara as a friend. They were both trapped in that hell just because some morons decided that sticking a demon in them would be good for their village. Naruto and Gaara are like good friends that know each other through similar circumstances. This is highly debatable and because of lack of evidence no one can prove or disprove me at all.
Now, for the last analysis, this one will be on… A girl this time and one of my favorite female characters of the anime and manga: Temari.

Temari isn’t that much revealed and so it is hard to analyze her that is why her analysis will only be about a page or so long.

Temari is the eldest (or so we presume) of the three ninjas of Sand, Gaara being the youngest and Kankurou being the middle child. She is also the loudest and most outward but like the rest of her siblings she is trained for combat. She was raised with the idea of being a great ninja and striving to be a warrior pounded into her head. And so her personality reflects it, her true emotions rarely show and she is only weak and laughs only in Shikamaru’s presence.

Of course the rest is now speculation and derived from her personality alone. She hates Shikamaru because he beat her but also admires her for being ABLE to beat her. Of course Temari is bossy, it is shown in her constant spits with her brother Kankurou. She is also caring, shown by her timid and caring words (despite her fear) for Gaara. She says the words “Welcome Back” to Gaara in the Chunin exams quite delicately and filled with emotion. This is of course highly debatable.

Now straight onto the “Pairings” of Temari, I so the majority of Temari pairings are Shikamaru/Temari which I approve (and since it’s highly plausible) but some pairings are highly strange that I will challenge in this section.

Temari and Shikamaru are obviously made for each other. Temari’s bossy tendencies reflect that of Shikamaru’s mother and I’m sure if his mom saw Temari she’d probably think she’d be perfect for Shikamaru. Without a doubt, Temari’s ability to ‘whip’ (as I like to use in my fics) Shikamaru will get him up and about in no time. And in my opinion, the Nara family’s men are naturally whipped anyway.

Temari and Gaara are well… they’re siblings and that’s just plain incest which is WRONG. Maybe it’s because of the values I was raised with, but I’m sure a lot of you can say that incest is bad. I mean if Temari gets pregnant with Gaara, chances are it’s going to be pretty damn gimped out. Temari and Gaara’s personalities, upon further analysis, are practically anti thesis of each other. Of course Temari cares for Gaara (or fear him, depending on your point of view of the evidence) but she in no ways shows any ‘romantic’ interest for him. They are LITERALLY brother and sister, so thusly cannot be coupled.

Temari and Kankurou, see above.

Temari and Naruto, this is where I disagree and in personal opinion hold in high distaste. This is because they barely met each other; hell I’m sure the only reason Naruto even KNOWS about Temari is through watching her fights. Temari might see Naruto as someone to look up to, being able to change Gaara so quickly but that is all you can see it as. Frankly I have nothing more to say without ranting and that (like I said before) is not an argument.
